Getting Back On Track – So Far
Well I have not been focused these past months in my quest to archieve my goal. I must admit, the going is not easy. Other things have sort of dumped themselves in my path to attain my goal. However I think [and pray] that I am not back on track and that I shall stay focused till I reach my goal.
As I mentioned in my previous post, British American Tobacco [where I work as a Support Analyst] have started rolling out SAP HR. Actually they have for some time now. Based on this, I came up with this “game plan”
1…identify all SAP Consultants within the company
2…strick up a relationship with these consultaants
3…ask for help from these consultants based on their availability
4…have further sessions whereby they can review my CV and any other material.
5…carry on practicing SAP from my SAP system at home.
6…post on the company intranet for assistance in SAP HR
From the list above, this is what I have attained so far:
1…I have only been able to identify one Consultant. There are more Consultants within the company, and I really need to work on this
2…the one person I have sourced is always busy. It got to a point whereby i stopped asking him if he was free because I didnt want him reporting back to my Mananger that I have been pestering him. Anyway shortly after this, i suddenly get a call from him asking if it would be OK for us to sit and and have a chat about my requirements. Unfortunately, when we did finally get to sit down, he could only spend 30 minutes with me, and to be honest what we talked about was not of any benefit to me. All he did was to go through a powerpoint presentation he had on his laptop about ERD.
3…see above
4…not currently possible as present Consultant says he is too busy
5…I have started doing this.
6…I did this and got a phone call from someone in BAT Southampton requesting that I take the advert down immediately. All I did was to ask for help as in if any member of staff had any documentation on SAP HR lying around that they didnt need anymore.
